Jacksonville Women's Lacrosse Announces First Signing Class

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 5, 2009) -- With its inaugural season set for the spring of 2010, the JU women's lacrosse team announces the signing of 18 players that will make up that team. Jacksonville Gets Two Transfers, One New Signee ...

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jan. 8, 2009 -- Jacksonville University men's lacrosse coach Matt Kerwick announced two transfers and one signee that have joined the program for the inaugural season in 2010.

Chip Young (Maryland) and Jeremy Tissenbaum (Hobart) are transferring to JU with Nick Caton being signing with JU. All three are midfielders that will form an experienced nucleus for JU's first team.

Nice work.
My son, G (his real name is Robert, but all the other kids had nicknames, so he was dubbed G when he was about 9 or 10), started the team last year as a freshman, and now it seems like he will get the dream of playing D-I lacrosse. It is great for the sport and great for JU to step up to a schedule like they are going to have. Navy is very excited to have a home-and-home arrangement with JU for their Florida trip each year (alternating years between Jacksonville and Orlando).

I met with Coach Kerwick in October, and he seems very genuine and concerned about the players. I believe he is exactly what they need to build the program. It will be fun. TTYS
